cakelava is a Las Vegas wedding cake and birthday cake studio making scratch-made custom wedding cakes, sculpted 3D cakes, and celebration cakes, all expertly designed by Rick Reichart. Rick takes an artful and hands on approach to cakes – he paints, sculpts, and airbrushes, and handcrafts all his own flowers and decorations. cakelava clients receive a very personalized experience and a cake designed with WOW in mind!

Rick is a highly regarded cake designer with three decades of experience making cakes in L.A., Seattle, Hawaii and Las Vegas. His reputation for cake design and instruction extends internationally. Rick can currently be seen on the Food Network series “Ridiculous Cakes” along with his wife Sasha, who runs the business side of cakelava. The couple co-authored the crafty cake decorating book Extreme Cakeovers. Prior to “Ridiculous Cakes” Rick appeared on Food Network Challenge: “Spongebob Birthday Cakes”.

cakelava’s owners Rick and Sasha Reichart first opened their award-winning custom cake studio on Oahu in 2005. After 10 years in Hawaii, they relocated cakelava to Las Vegas, where they opened their studio near Summerlin in 2016.

cakelava’s studio is open by appointment, and closed on Sundays and Mondays. Based on availability, we welcome cake orders placed 1 week or more in advance. We work exclusively in custom cakes (no cupcakes, cake pops, or pastries). We look forward to serving you!
